Regional Hospital Mullingar is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Clinical Nurse Manager 1 (Theatre) to join its Theatre Department. This permanent whole-time opportunity offers experienced theatre nurses the chance to take on a key leadership role in delivering high-quality perioperative care within a busy acute hospital setting.
This role is open to both HSE and non-HSE applicants.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide clinical leadership and management within the Theatre Department.
- Ensure safe, high-quality, patient-centred perioperative care.
- Support and supervise nursing staff in line with hospital policies and best practice guidelines.
- Coordinate theatre activities to ensure efficient service delivery.
- Promote continuous quality improvement and risk management initiatives.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and ensure compliance with professional standards.
- Contribute to workforce planning and staff development within the department.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Registered as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
- Significant post-registration experience in Theatre Nursing.
- Demonstrated depth and breadth of experience in the area of Theatre Nursing relevant to the role.
- Proven leadership and team management skills.
- Strong communication, organisational and clinical decision-making abilities.
- Commitment to professional development and evidence-based practice.
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
Salary is aligned with the Clinical Nurse Manager 1 (Theatre) – Grade Code 2259 pay scale effective 1 August 2025 .
Salary Scale (1 August 2025):
- €56,642 – €66,705 per annum (8-point scale)

The post falls under HSE Dublin and Midlands, covering Longford, Westmeath, Offaly, Laois, Kildare, and parts of Dublin South and Wicklow.
A panel may be formed as a result of this campaign for Clinical Nurse Manager 1, Theatre Department, from which current and future permanent or specified purpose vacancies of full or part-time duration may be filled.
