Job Overview
The Clinical Nurse Manager 2 Emergency Department Shift Leader will provide clinical leadership and operational support within the Emergency Department at Midland Regional Hospital Portlaoise. The role involves coordinating patient care delivery, supporting nursing staff, and ensuring the highest standards of emergency nursing practice are maintained during each shift.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide clinical leadership and shift coordination within the Emergency Department.
- Support the delivery of safe, efficient, and patient-focused emergency nursing care.
- Supervise and support nursing staff across triage, resuscitation, and emergency care areas.
- Ensure compliance with HSE policies, procedures, and clinical governance standards.
- Assist with patient flow management and escalation processes during busy operational periods.
- Promote best practice standards in emergency nursing and patient safety.
- Participate in staff development, mentoring, and clinical supervision activities.
- Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and service development within the department.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Registered General Nurse with active Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI) registration.
- Previous experience working in an acute Hospital Emergency Department.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Triage and Resuscitation nursing.
- Strong clinical leadership and team management abilities.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and decision-making skills.
- Willingness to undertake further studies leading to a Certificate or Higher Diploma in Emergency Nursing or Critical Care Nursing if not already completed.
- Ability to work effectively in a demanding and fast-paced healthcare environment.

Salary for this Clinical Nurse Manager 2 position will be aligned with HSE pay scales for Grade 2119 roles.
