Cork University Hospital is seeking an experienced nursing professional for the permanent, wholetime position of Clinical Nurse Manager 2 (Clinical Skills Facilitator, Paediatrics) at its Wilton campus. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled CNM 2 to lead clinical education and practice development within one of Ireland’s largest acute teaching hospitals.
Role Overview
The Clinical Nurse Manager 2 — Clinical Skills Facilitator will support and develop clinical competency within the Paediatrics department at Cork University Hospital. In this role, you will act as a key resource for staff education, skills development, and the promotion of evidence-based nursing practice, ensuring the highest standards of paediatric care are consistently delivered.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate clinical skills training and competency assessment for nursing staff within the Paediatrics department.
- Design, coordinate, and evaluate education programmes aligned with current best practice and regulatory requirements.
- Support new staff orientation, ongoing professional development, and return-to-practice initiatives.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to identify learning needs and drive quality improvement.
- Maintain and develop clinical simulation and skills resources appropriate to the paediatric setting.
- Contribute to the development and review of clinical policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Provide clinical leadership and act as a visible, accessible role model for nursing staff.

Salary
€62,699 – €79,227 per annum (HSE Clinical Nurse Manager 2 (General) scale, 11-point scale, plus LSIs where applicable). Based on the HSE Consolidated Salary Scales effective 1 June 2026.
