Community Healthcare Sligo Leitrim, part of Ireland’s Health Service Executive (HSE), is seeking an experienced Clinical Nurse Manager 2 to lead our disability services team. About the Role
We are recruiting a Clinical Nurse Manager 2 (Person in Charge) to provide pivotal leadership in planning, coordinating and managing clinical activities and resources within our disability services. This senior nursing position requires strong clinical governance expertise and the ability to facilitate professional clinical leadership across multidisciplinary teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate and manage all clinical activities and resources within the designated clinical area
- Support and maintain clinical governance and supervision structures as specified by HIQA requirements
- Facilitate effective communication and provide professional clinical leadership to nursing teams
- Manage staffing requirements, resource allocation and staff development programs
- Lead practice development initiatives and quality assurance processes
- Ensure compliance with Health Information and Quality Authority (HIQA) standards and regulations
- Supervise and mentor nursing staff while maintaining high standards of patient care
Required Qualifications
Essential Requirements
- Registration with Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI)
- Minimum 5 years post-registration nursing experience
- Experience in disability services or community healthcare settings
- Demonstrated leadership and management experience in clinical environments
- Knowledge of HIQA standards and clinical governance frameworks
- Fluent English language proficiency
Preferred Qualifications
- Post-graduate qualification in nursing management or related field
- Previous experience as Clinical Nurse Manager 1 or similar supervisory role
- Experience working within HSE or Irish public healthcare system
- Knowledge of intellectual disability nursing practices
- Training in quality improvement methodologies
