This Clinical Nurse Manager 2 Theatre role at St Columcilles Hospital offers an excellent opportunity to lead and develop theatre nursing services within a busy acute hospital setting. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical leadership and management within the Theatre Department.
  • Ensure delivery of safe, effective, and evidence-based perioperative care.
  • Coordinate staffing, rostering, and resource allocation within theatre services.
  • Support quality improvement initiatives and risk management processes.
  • Promote professional development and mentorship of nursing staff.
  • Ensure compliance with HIQA standards, hospital policies, and HSE guidelines.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimise patient outcomes.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Registered General Nurse with active registration on the NMBI register.
  • Demonstrated depth and breadth of nursing experience in a Theatre Department within an acute setting.
  • Minimum relevant management or supervisory experience appropriate to the role.
  • Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to manage change and service development initiatives.
  • Desirable: Postgraduate qualification in Perioperative Nursing or Management.

Salary, Benefits & Working Hours

Salary is aligned with the HSE Clinical Nurse Manager 2 pay scale (Grade Code 2429) in accordance with the Department of Health Consolidated Salary Scales (1 August 2025). The current scale ranges from €61,463 to €77,666 (LSI) per annum.

This is a permanent whole-time position offering public sector pension benefits, annual leave entitlement, and opportunities for continued professional development within the HSE.
