About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Clinical Nurse Manager 3 to oversee our Patient Flow Department at Midlands Regional Hospital Tullamore. This senior nursing management position requires demonstrated expertise in patient flow management and the ability to optimize patient movement throughout our healthcare facility. You will report directly to the Assistant Director of Nursing and play a crucial role in ensuring efficient, safe patient care delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the Patient Flow Department operations across all hospital areas
- Develop and implement strategies to optimize patient flow and reduce bottlenecks
- Coordinate bed management and patient placement decisions throughout the facility
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless patient transitions
- Monitor and analyze patient flow metrics to identify improvement opportunities
- Manage and mentor nursing staff within the Patient Flow Department
- Ensure compliance with HSE policies, procedures, and quality standards
- Participate in capacity planning and resource allocation decisions
Required Qualifications
Essential Requirements
- Registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI)
- Minimum 7 years post-registration nursing experience
- Demonstrated depth and breadth of experience in Patient Flow management
- Previous experience in nursing management or supervisory roles
- Strong leadership and team management capabilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Post-graduate qualification in nursing management or healthcare administration
- Experience working within the HSE system
- Knowledge of hospital information systems and patient tracking technologies
- Project management experience in healthcare settings
- Understanding of healthcare quality improvement methodologies
