The Clinical Nurse Manager 3 Waterford role in Theatre Services at University Hospital Waterford offers an exceptional opportunity to lead and develop high-quality perioperative care within a dynamic acute hospital environment. Working within HSE Dublin and South East, the Clinical Nurse Manager 3 will provide strategic and operational leadership to theatre nursing teams, driving clinical excellence, governance and continuous service improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide senior clinical and operational leadership across Theatre Services.
- Ensure delivery of safe, high-quality perioperative patient care in line with national standards.
- Lead, manage and develop nursing and multidisciplinary theatre teams.
- Oversee workforce planning, rostering and resource allocation.
- Drive quality improvement initiatives, clinical audit and risk management processes.
- Ensure compliance with HSE policies, HIQA standards and best practice guidelines.
- Support service development, innovation and strategic planning within Theatre Services.
- Promote a culture of continuous professional development and education.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Registered General Nurse on the active register maintained by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
- Minimum required years of post-registration experience, including significant theatre nursing experience.
- Demonstrated leadership and management experience at senior nursing level.
- Relevant postgraduate qualification in nursing management or related field (desirable).
- Proven ability to manage change, lead teams and deliver service improvements.
- Strong knowledge of clinical governance, quality and patient safety frameworks.
- Excellent communication, organisational and decision-making skills.
