Children’s Health Ireland is seeking a dedicated Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNM2 Grade) in Diabetes to deliver expert, evidence-based care to paediatric patients and their families. This specialist role offers the opportunity to lead diabetes care initiatives, enhance patient education, and support multidisciplinary collaboration within a leading publicly funded healthcare organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialist nursing expertise in paediatric diabetes management.
- Deliver comprehensive assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care.
- Support children and families through structured diabetes education programmes.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimise clinical outcomes.
- Participate in service development, audit, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Contribute to policy development and clinical guideline implementation.
- Support staff training and professional development in diabetes care.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Registration as a Registered General Nurse or Registered Children’s Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
- Minimum experience requirements in line with CNM2 (Grade 2119) criteria.
- Demonstrated clinical expertise in diabetes management.
- Evidence of continuing professional development in a relevant specialty.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare environment.
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
- Salary in accordance with the Department of Health Consolidated Salary Scales for Clinical Nurse Manager 2 (Grade Code 2119). Current scale (effective 1 August 2025) ranges from €61,463 to €77,666 LSI.
