Job Overview
The Clinical Nurse Specialist Mental Health Mayo position offers an exciting opportunity to play a leading role in Adult ADHD care within Mayo Mental Health Services. This permanent whole-time role supports the delivery of specialist assessment, intervention, and ongoing management for adults with ADHD across the HSE West and North West region.
This post is open to both HSE and non-HSE applicants and is ideal for an experienced mental health nurse seeking to advance their clinical leadership and specialist expertise in ADHD services.
Key Responsibilities
- • Provide specialist assessment and evidence-based interventions for adults with ADHD.
- • Deliver advanced clinical nursing care within a multidisciplinary mental health team.
- • Support service development and contribute to improved pathways for Adult ADHD care.
- • Provide education, guidance, and support to patients and their families.
- • Participate in clinical audit, quality improvement, and service evaluation initiatives.
- • Maintain accurate clinical documentation in line with HSE standards and best practice.
- • Liaise with community services and relevant stakeholders to ensure integrated care delivery.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- • Registered as a Psychiatric Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
- • Demonstrated depth and breadth of experience in Adult ADHD care.
- • Eligibility for or commitment to formally apply for entry onto the Interim ONMSD CNS database (until transferred to its permanent location).
- • Proven clinical expertise within mental health services.
- • Strong communication, leadership, and multidisciplinary collaboration skills.
- • Commitment to continuous professional development and evidence-based practice.

Salary: Competitive pay in line with HSE Clinical Nurse Specialist (Mental Health) 2625 salary scale.
Working Hours: Permanent wholetime position (standard HSE working week).
