We are seeking an experienced Clinical Services Improvement Manager (Grade VIII) to join our Regional Clinical Director’s Office, based at Galway University Hospitals, with competitive salary €82,258 – €99,213.
About the Role
As Clinical Services Improvement Manager within our Regional Clinical Director’s Office, you will play a pivotal role in driving healthcare service excellence across our 7 hospitals and 8 sites network. This senior management position reports directly to the Regional Clinical Director and focuses on implementing strategic clinical service improvements, quality initiatives, and operational excellence across our comprehensive healthcare system.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead clinical services improvement initiatives across multiple hospital sites within the HSE West North West RHA network
- Develop and implement strategic plans for clinical service delivery enhancement in collaboration with the Regional Clinical Director
- Manage quality improvement projects and clinical governance frameworks across acute and specialist hospital services
- Coordinate with hospital management teams at Letterkenny University Hospital, Mayo University Hospital, Portiuncula University Hospital, Roscommon University Hospital, and Sligo University Hospital
- Analyze clinical service performance data and provide strategic recommendations to senior leadership
- Facilitate change management processes for clinical service improvements and new service implementations
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure compliance with healthcare standards and regulatory requirements
Required Qualifications
Essential Requirements
- Relevant third-level qualification in Healthcare Management, Business Administration, Public Administration, or related field
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in healthcare management or clinical services improvement roles
- Demonstrated experience in project management and change management within healthcare settings
- Strong knowledge of Irish healthcare system, HSE structures, and clinical governance frameworks
- Excellent analytical skills with experience in performance measurement and quality improvement methodologies
Preferred Qualifications
- Postgraduate qualification in Healthcare Management, Quality Improvement, or related field
- Experience working within HSE or public healthcare sector
- Knowledge of clinical audit processes and healthcare accreditation standards
- Leadership experience in multi-site healthcare operations
- Professional certification in project management (PMP, PRINCE2) or quality improvement
