Children’s Health Ireland (CHI) is hiring a Clinical Specialist Audiologist in Dublin South on a permanent, whole-time basis. This is an exceptional opportunity to lead specialist audiological care for children and young people at one of Ireland’s most significant healthcare organisations.
About the Role
As a Clinical Specialist Audiologist at CHI, you will provide expert-level audiological assessment, diagnosis, and intervention for a complex paediatric caseload. This role carries significant clinical leadership responsibilities, contributing to service development, staff education, and the advancement of best practice across the audiology function.
You will work as a senior clinical resource within the audiology team, supporting colleagues through clinical mentorship, contributing to research and quality improvement initiatives, and helping to shape the direction of audiological care for children across the Dublin South region and beyond.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver specialist audiological assessments and interventions for paediatric patients with complex needs.
- Act as a clinical resource and expert reference for the wider audiology team.
- Provide mentorship, supervision, and clinical education to junior and senior audiology staff.
- Lead or contribute to service development projects, quality improvement, and evidence-based practice initiatives.
- Liaise with multidisciplinary teams, families, and external agencies to ensure holistic, child-centred care.
- Maintain accurate clinical records in accordance with CHI policies and professional standards.
- Contribute to audit, research, and the development of clinical guidelines and protocols.
Requirements
Candidates must meet the eligibility criteria for the Audiologist — Clinical Specialist (Grade 3447) as set out by CHI and the HSE. This will typically include:
- A recognised qualification in Audiology (BSc, MSc, or equivalent).
- CORU registration (or eligibility to register) as an Audiologist.
- Significant post-qualification experience in a clinical audiology setting, including demonstrable specialist expertise.
- Proven experience working with paediatric or complex caseloads is highly desirable.
- Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.

Salary
€59,668 – €73,189 per annum (HSE Audiologist — Clinical Specialist scale, 6-point scale), based on the HSE Consolidated Salary Scales effective 1 June 2026.
Location
This post is based in Dublin South and sits within the CHI network, which operates across multiple sites including Children’s Health Ireland at Crumlin, Tallaght, and Temple Street, as well as community services. CHI is Ireland’s national tertiary paediatric healthcare provider, delivering care to children and young people across the country. The successful candidate will be based in the Dublin South catchment area, with the possibility of cross-site working in line with service needs.
