Galway University Hospitals is seeking an experienced Clinical Specialist Radiographer (MRI) to join its Radiology Department on a permanent wholetime basis. This senior-level role offers the opportunity to lead and advance MRI services within a dynamic acute hospital environment.
This Clinical Specialist Radiographer MRI Galway position is ideal for a highly skilled radiographer with extensive MRI expertise who is committed to clinical excellence, service development, and patient-centred care.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide advanced clinical expertise in MRI across a broad range of examinations and complex cases
- Lead, develop and optimise MRI protocols in line with national and international best practice
- Ensure high standards of patient safety, radiation protection, and infection prevention
- Supervise, mentor and support radiography staff and students
- Participate in service planning, audit, quality improvement and research initiatives
- Collaborate with radiologists, clinicians and multidisciplinary teams
- Contribute to departmental policy development and implementation
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Recognised qualification in Radiography and registration with CORU
- Significant post-qualification experience in MRI demonstrating depth and breadth of expertise
- Proven ability to manage complex MRI caseloads independently
- Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills
- Experience in clinical audit, quality assurance and service improvement
- Commitment to continuing professional development
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
Salary Scale: €65,592 – €77,475 per annum (points: €65,592 | €68,926 | €71,754 | €74,590 | €77,475)
Contract Type: Permanent Wholetime
