About the Role
We’re seeking an experienced Communications Officer to join our Communications and Public Affairs team in HSE Dublin and South East. Based in our modern Carrickmines office (with Kilkenny option available), you’ll play a crucial role in developing and delivering communications strategies that connect with our communities, stakeholders, and healthcare professionals across the region.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute comprehensive communications campaigns and projects for multiple healthcare services and initiatives
- Create compelling written content for diverse channels including reports, newsletters, websites, and social media platforms
- Design high-quality communications materials using PowerPoint, Canva, and Adobe Creative Suite
- Manage content across digital platforms including websites and content management systems
- Collaborate with senior managers, healthcare teams, and external stakeholders including patient advocates and service users
- Edit and proofread communications materials to ensure accuracy and brand consistency
- Support crisis communications and urgent public health messaging when required
Required Qualifications
Essential Requirements
- Proven experience working in busy office environments with multiple teams and senior stakeholders
- Demonstrated experience in developing and delivering communications projects and campaigns
- Strong writing, editing, and content creation skills across multiple formats and channels
- Proficiency in PowerPoint and design software (Canva or Adobe Creative Suite)
- Experience creating content for both online and offline platforms
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with content management systems and email management software
- Background in healthcare, public sector, or similar stakeholder-focused environment
- Knowledge of social media management and digital marketing principles
- Understanding of public health communications and patient advocacy
