Job Overview
University Hospital Waterford is seeking a highly skilled Temporary Consultant Neurologist to join its specialist medical team. This Consultant Neurologist Waterford opportunity offers the chance to deliver high-quality neurological care within a dynamic acute hospital environment serving the HSE Dublin and South East region.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide consultant-led neurological assessment, diagnosis, and treatment services.
- Deliver inpatient and outpatient neurology care in accordance with national standards.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and clinical governance initiatives.
- Supervise and support NCHDs and other medical staff.
- Contribute to service development, audit, and quality improvement programmes.
- Participate in on-call rota as required.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and adhere to HSE policies.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Registration as a specialist in the Specialist Division of the Register of Medical Practitioners maintained by the Medical Council in Ireland (Neurology).
- Extensive postgraduate experience in neurology.
- Demonstrated clinical leadership and team collaboration skills.
- Commitment to high standards of patient care and clinical governance.
- Eligibility to work in Ireland.
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
Salary will be aligned with the HSE Consultant pay scale in accordance with the Department of Health Consolidated Salary Scales (1 August 2025) :contentReference[oaicite:0]{index=0}. Public sector terms and conditions apply, including:
