Job Overview
Letterkenny University Hospital is recruiting two Consultant Physicians in Geriatric Medicine on a permanent whole-time basis working 37 hours per week. Key Responsibilities
- Provide consultant-led specialist geriatric medicine services to patients within Letterkenny University Hospital
- Lead the assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and management of older patients with complex medical conditions
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure high standards of patient care
- Support the development and improvement of geriatric medicine pathways and services
- Participate in clinical governance, quality improvement, and service planning initiatives
- Contribute to teaching, mentoring, and supervision of junior medical staff and trainees
- Maintain compliance with professional standards, HSE policies, and regulatory requirements
- Participate in relevant on-call and consultant service commitments as required
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Registration or eligibility for registration on the Specialist Division of the Irish Medical Council
