Job Overview
Letterkenny University Hospital is seeking a highly skilled Consultant Radiologist to join its Medical and Dental team within HSE West and North West. This permanent wholetime opportunity offers 37 hours per week in a dynamic acute hospital setting serving the Donegal region.
This Consultant Radiologist role offers the chance to play a key leadership role in diagnostic imaging services, contributing to patient care excellence and service development within a modern hospital environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality diagnostic imaging services across a range of modalities.
- Report on imaging studies including CT, MRI, ultrasound, and plain film radiography.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and clinical case discussions.
- Supervise and support NCHDs and radiology trainees.
- Contribute to service planning, audit, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
- Participate in the on-call rota as required.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Registration as a Specialist in the Specialist Division of the Medical Council of Ireland (Radiology).
- Relevant postgraduate qualifications in Radiology.
- Demonstrated expertise in diagnostic imaging and reporting.
- Strong leadership and clinical governance experience.
- Excellent communication and multidisciplinary collaboration skills.
- Eligibility to work in Ireland.
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
- Permanent Wholetime Contract.
- 37 hours per week.
- Salary in line with HSE Consultant Radiologist Grade 118X pay scale (Department of Health Consolidated Salary Scales, 1 August 2025).
