Job Overview

The Dental Surgeon General Dublin North role offers an exciting opportunity to join HSE Community Services within the Integrated Health Areas of Dublin North County and Dublin North City & West. These permanent positions provide the opportunity to deliver high-quality community dental services while contributing to preventative and restorative oral healthcare programmes.

This campaign will fill current vacancies and may create a panel for future permanent and specified-purpose roles across Community Services in Dublin North.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive general dental services within community settings.
  • Deliver preventative, diagnostic, and restorative dental treatments.
  • Assess, plan, and manage individual patient care programmes.
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
  • Maintain accurate clinical records in line with HSE standards.
  • Participate in health promotion and oral health education initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with clinical governance, infection control, and quality standards.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Registration in the Dental Register maintained by the Dental Council of Ireland.
  • Relevant experience in general dental practice.
  • Demonstrated commitment to patient-centred care.
  • Strong clinical decision-making and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Eligibility to work in Ireland.

Salary, Benefits & Working Hours

  • Salary aligned with the HSE consolidated pay scale for General Dental Surgeon (Grade Code 1597).
  • Salary scale effective 1 February 2026: €74,821 – €108,463 (LSIs applicable).
  • Permanent whole-time and permanent part-time (0.60 WTE) contracts available.

These positions are based in the Integrated Health Areas (IHA) of Dublin North County (DNC) and Dublin North City & West (DNCW).

  • 1 Permanent Whole-Time vacancy – Coolock Health Centre, Dublin
  • 1 Permanent Part-Time (0.60 WTE) vacancy – Coolock PCC, Dublin North

Employment is with the HSE Dublin and North East region, serving North Dublin, Meath, Louth, Cavan, and Monaghan. The HSE provides community-based healthcare services focused on delivering accessible, high-quality care across Ireland.
