Employee Relations Manager Grade VIII

The Employee Relations Manager Donegal role is a senior leadership opportunity within the Donegal Integrated Health Area. Reporting at Grade VIII level, this position is responsible for overseeing employee relations services across all acute and community services in the region. This is a permanent wholetime post offering significant strategic and operational impact within the HSE West and North West region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all employee relations activity across acute and community services in Donegal IHA.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to senior management on industrial relations, HR policy, and employment legislation.
  • Oversee case management relating to disciplinary, grievance, dignity at work, and industrial disputes.
  • Develop and implement employee relations strategies aligned with national HSE frameworks.
  • Liaise with trade unions and external stakeholders in relation to industrial relations matters.
  • Support workforce planning, organisational change, and service transformation initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with HSE policies, employment law, and public sector pay policy.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Relevant third-level qualification in Human Resources, Employment Law, Business, or a related discipline.
  • Significant senior-level experience in employee relations or HR management.
  • Strong knowledge of Irish employment legislation and industrial relations frameworks.
  • Proven ability to manage complex employee relations cases.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Experience working within a large public sector or healthcare environment is desirable.

  • Grade: VIII (0655) – Salary in line with HSE Consolidated Salary Scales (1 August 2025).
