We’re seeking an Engineering Technician for our Sligo facility on a 12-month full-time contract to maximize manufacturing equipment performance and maintain operational excellence.
About the Role
As an Engineering Technician at our Manorhamilton Road site, you’ll provide critical manufacturing engineering services to optimize equipment availability and performance. This shift-based position requires flexibility to work both day and night shifts while ensuring all manufacturing and utilities equipment operates at peak efficiency in our regulated GMP environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Production teams to maximize equipment performance and minimize downtime
- Execute preventative and predictive maintenance programs on manufacturing and utilities equipment
- Coordinate with internal and external engineering personnel for equipment troubleshooting, installation, and commissioning
- Support equipment improvement projects and process optimization initiatives
- Maintain detailed engineering records and documentation in compliance with GMP standards
- Supervise external contractors and ensure adherence to safety protocols
- Investigate equipment performance issues to improve manufacturing efficiency and yield
- Participate in continuous improvement and cost reduction programs
Required Qualifications
Essential Requirements
- 3rd level qualification in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or related discipline)
- Alternative: Trade qualification with relevant engineering experience
- 3-5 years experience in regulated environment (GMP experience strongly preferred)
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Excellent documentation and IT skills
- Flexibility to work 24×7 shift roster including day and night shifts
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in biopharmaceutical manufacturing
- Knowledge of Maintenance Excellence Programme (MEP)
- Experience with equipment commissioning and validation
- Strong understanding of continuous improvement methodologies
