University Maternity Hospital Limerick is inviting applications for the BSc Midwifery Pre Registration Midwifery Student role. This permanent wholetime opportunity is ideal for candidates completing their pre-registration midwifery programme and seeking to begin their professional career in a leading maternity setting.
As a Midwifery Student Limerick appointment, you will gain hands-on clinical experience while progressing towards registration as a Staff Midwife within HSE Mid West.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide supervised midwifery care to women and newborns across maternity services.
- Participate in antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal care delivery.
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation in line with HSE standards.
- Adhere to professional, ethical, and clinical governance frameworks.
- Support patient safety initiatives and quality improvement programmes.
- Engage in ongoing clinical learning and professional development.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Enrolment in or completion of a BSc in Midwifery (Pre-Registration).
- Eligibility for registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
- Strong clinical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Commitment to evidence-based practice and woman-centred care.
- Flexibility to work rostered shifts as required.
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
Salary for this post aligns with the Staff Midwife (Awaiting Registration) Grade 2633 under the HSE Consolidated Salary Scales (1 August 2025) .
