Galway University Hospital is seeking a highly organised and motivated Clinical Audit Coordinator Grade VII to support clinical governance and quality improvement across acute hospital services. This permanent leadership role offers an opportunity to influence patient safety, service improvement, and compliance with national standards within a dynamic healthcare environment.

A panel may be formed from this campaign for current and future permanent or specified purpose vacancies (full-time or part-time) within HSE West and North West RHA.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate clinical audit programmes across acute hospital services.
  • Support clinicians and multidisciplinary teams in developing and implementing audit plans.
  • Ensure compliance with national clinical audit standards and governance frameworks.
  • Analyse audit data and prepare detailed performance and compliance reports.
  • Facilitate quality improvement initiatives arising from audit findings.
  • Liaise with hospital management, clinical leads, and external stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and reporting systems in line with HSE policy.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Relevant third-level qualification in healthcare, management, quality improvement, or related discipline.
  • Significant experience in clinical audit, governance, or healthcare quality systems.
  • Strong analytical and report-writing skills.
  • Excellent organisational and project coordination abilities.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary clinical teams.
  • Strong knowledge of HSE governance and healthcare regulatory frameworks (desirable).

Salary, Benefits & Working Hours

Salary is aligned with HSE Grade VII pay scales in accordance with the Department of Health Consolidated Salary Scales (1 August 2025 revision) .

This role is based in the Academic Office at Galway University Hospital, serving the HSE West and North West region (Donegal, Sligo, Leitrim, Roscommon, Mayo, and Galway).
