Job Overview
The Clinical Nurse Manager 1 Mullingar role offers an exciting leadership opportunity within the Paediatric Emergency Department at Regional Hospital Mullingar. This permanent HSE position plays a key role in delivering high-quality, child-centred emergency care while supporting clinical excellence and team leadership.
There are currently 2 permanent whole-time vacancies available. A panel may also be formed to fill future permanent or specified-purpose roles of full or part-time duration.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide clinical leadership within the Paediatric Emergency Department.
- Support and supervise nursing staff to ensure safe, effective patient care.
- Promote evidence-based practice and continuous quality improvement.
- Coordinate patient flow and contribute to service efficiency in a busy emergency setting.
- Ensure compliance with HSE policies, professional standards, and child safeguarding requirements.
- Contribute to staff education, mentoring, and professional development.
- Participate in audit, risk management, and service development initiatives.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Registered in the General Division of the Register of Nurses maintained by NMBI.
- Demonstrated depth and breadth of experience in Paediatric Emergency Nursing.
- Minimum experience requirements in line with HSE Clinical Nurse Manager 1 criteria.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
- Ability to manage clinical priorities in a high-pressure emergency environment.
- Commitment to professional development and quality patient care.
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
Salary is aligned with the Clinical Nurse Manager 1 (Grade 2127) pay scale under the Department of Health Consolidated Salary Scales (effective 1 August 2025) :contentReference[oaicite:0]{index=0}.
Salary Scale (1 August 2025): €56,642 – €66,705 per annum (8-point scale).
