Job Overview
The Clinical Nurse Specialist – Diabetes Service role at Our Lady’s Hospital Navan offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced nurse to deliver specialist diabetes care within an acute hospital setting. This permanent wholetime position sits within HSE Dublin and North East and plays a key role in improving patient outcomes through expert clinical practice, education and service development.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialist assessment, planning and delivery of diabetes care to patients.
- Deliver patient education and self-management support for individuals with diabetes.
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to optimise patient outcomes.
- Contribute to clinical governance, audit and quality improvement initiatives.
- Support and educate nursing and medical colleagues in evidence-based diabetes management.
- Participate in service planning and development within the Diabetes Service.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and adhere to HSE policies and standards.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Registered General Nurse with current registration on the NMBI register.
- Minimum experience requirements as per HSE criteria for Clinical Nurse Specialist (General) Grade 2632.
- Relevant postgraduate qualification in diabetes care (or working towards same) desirable.
- Demonstrated expertise in diabetes assessment and management.
- Strong communication, leadership and organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

- Grade: Clinical Nurse Specialist (General) – 2632.
- Contract Type: Permanent Wholetime.
