An exceptional senior medical leadership opportunity is available for a Consultant Physician in Infectious Diseases at University Hospital Limerick. This role offers the chance to deliver expert specialist care while contributing to service development, education, and research within a major acute teaching hospital in the Mid West region.
Key Responsibilities
• Deliver high-quality consultant-led Infectious Diseases services
• Provide inpatient and outpatient specialist clinical care
• Participate in multidisciplinary team decision-making
• Support infection prevention, antimicrobial stewardship, and clinical governance initiatives
• Supervise and mentor NCHDs and trainees
• Contribute to audit, quality improvement, teaching, and research activities
• Participate in agreed on-call and service rotas
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Registration as a Specialist in the Specialist Division of the Register of Medical Practitioners maintained by the Medical Council of Ireland in Infectious Diseases
• Extensive postgraduate training and clinical experience in Infectious Diseases
• Demonstrated commitment to clinical excellence and patient safety
• Strong leadership, communication, and teamwork skills
• Eligibility to work in Ireland
