Clonakilty Community Hospital is seeking a Domestic staff member to support Older Persons Services within a caring healthcare environment. This permanent part-time role plays a vital part in maintaining high standards of cleanliness, comfort, and safety for residents, patients, and staff.
The post is open to both HSE and non-HSE applicants, and a panel may be formed to fill future vacancies within the service.
Key Responsibilities
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards across wards, rooms, and communal areas
• Carry out routine and deep cleaning duties in line with HSE infection prevention policies
• Handle cleaning equipment and materials safely and correctly
• Support patient comfort by ensuring clean, well-presented environments
• Dispose of waste appropriately in accordance with hospital procedures
• Work collaboratively with nursing and support staff
• Adhere to health, safety, and confidentiality requirements at all times
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Experience in a cleaning, domestic, or healthcare environment is desirable
• Knowledge of hygiene and infection control practices
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Flexibility to meet service needs
• Eligibility to work in Ireland
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
• Salary: In line with HSE Domestic Grade 4110 pay scales (pro-rata for part-time hours)
• Working hours: 36 hours per week (0.92 WTE)
• Benefits include public service pension, annual leave, paid sick leave, and training opportunities
• Employment conditions apply in accordance with HSE and public service agreements
