The Grade V Quality & Patient Safety Facilitator role at Mayo University Hospital is an important internal opportunity within the HSE West and North West region. This position supports quality improvement initiatives and patient safety standards across the hospital setting.
This is a Specified Purpose Wholetime contract and is open exclusively to employees of the HSE, TUSLA, Section 38 agencies, or statutory health agencies in line with WRC Agreement 161867.
Key Responsibilities
• Support implementation of quality improvement and patient safety programmes
• Assist in monitoring compliance with clinical governance standards
• Facilitate audits, reviews and quality assurance initiatives
• Contribute to risk management processes and incident review systems
• Support staff training and awareness in quality and safety practices
• Maintain accurate documentation and reporting systems
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across departments
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Current employment within the HSE, TUSLA, Section 38 or statutory health agencies (essential)
• Relevant administrative, quality or healthcare experience
• Strong organisational and analytical skills
• Experience supporting audits or quality improvement initiatives desirable
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
Salary: In line with Grade V (0566) public sector pay scale (Department of Health Consolidated Salary Scales, 1 August 2025)
Contract: Specified Purpose Wholetime
