The Grade VI Section Officer Galway role offers an exciting opportunity to join the Department of Public Health at Merlin Park Hospital Campus. This permanent wholetime position plays a vital leadership and coordination role within the HSE West and North West region.
This is an internal campaign open only to eligible employees within the HSE, TUSLA, Section 38 agencies, or statutory health agencies in line with WRC Agreement 161867.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage administrative functions within the Regional Department of Public Health.
- Coordinate operational workflows and support service delivery objectives.
- Supervise and support administrative staff to ensure performance standards are met.
- Develop reports, monitor performance indicators, and contribute to service planning.
- Ensure compliance with HSE policies, procedures, and governance standards.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across the HSE West and North West region.
- Support budget management and resource allocation processes where required.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Current employment within HSE, TUSLA, Section 38 agencies, or statutory health agencies.
- Relevant administrative or management experience at an appropriate level.
- Strong organisational, leadership, and communication skills.
- Experience working within public sector governance frameworks.
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic healthcare environment.
- Proficiency in digital systems and reporting tools.

Salary is aligned with the HSE Grade VI (Code 0574) consolidated pay scale in accordance with the Department of Health Circular 6/2025 and Public Service Agreement 2024–2026 adjustments .
