This Health And Safety Officer Roscommon opportunity offers a permanent Grade VI role within Corlann (formerly Brothers of Charity Services Ireland). Reporting within a publicly funded Section 38 organisation, the postholder will lead and support health and safety compliance across services in County Roscommon.

This is a key governance role ensuring statutory compliance, risk mitigation, and the promotion of a strong safety culture across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

Support the implementation and monitoring of health and safety policies and procedures across services.
Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation and regulatory requirements.
Conduct risk assessments, safety audits, and incident investigations.
Advise management teams on risk management and mitigation strategies.
Deliver health and safety training and awareness initiatives.
Maintain accurate safety documentation, reports, and compliance records.
Liaise with regulatory authorities and external agencies where required.
Promote a culture of continuous improvement in workplace safety standards.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Relevant third-level qualification in Occupational Health & Safety or related discipline.
Demonstrated experience in a health and safety advisory or officer role.
Strong knowledge of Irish health and safety legislation.
Experience conducting risk assessments and audits.
Excellent communication, reporting, and stakeholder engagement skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams.
Full driving licence and access to transport (if required for service locations).

Salary aligned with Grade VI (0574) public sector pay scale.
