This Health And Safety Officer Roscommon opportunity offers a permanent Grade VI role within Corlann (formerly Brothers of Charity Services Ireland). Reporting within a publicly funded Section 38 organisation, the postholder will lead and support health and safety compliance across services in County Roscommon.

This is a key governance role ensuring statutory compliance, risk mitigation, and the promotion of a strong safety culture across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the implementation and monitoring of health and safety policies and procedures across services.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct risk assessments, safety audits, and incident investigations.
  • Advise management teams on risk management and mitigation strategies.
  • Deliver health and safety training and awareness initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate safety documentation, reports, and compliance records.
  • Liaise with regulatory authorities and external agencies where required.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement in workplace safety standards.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Relevant third-level qualification in Occupational Health & Safety or related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience in a health and safety advisory or officer role.
  • Strong knowledge of Irish health and safety legislation.
  • Experience conducting risk assessments and audits.
  • Excellent communication, reporting, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Full driving licence and access to transport (if required for service locations).

Salary, Benefits & Working Hours

  • Salary aligned with Grade VI (0574) public sector pay scale.
