West Kerry Community Hospital is seeking compassionate and dedicated Health Care Assistants to join its Older Persons Services team in Dingle, Co. Kerry. This is a permanent whole-time role offering long-term career security within Ireland’s public health service, supporting high-quality, person-centred care for older adults.
This opportunity is open to both HSE and non-HSE applicants and forms part of a bespoke recruitment campaign within the HSE South West region.
Key Responsibilities
• Deliver high standards of personal and clinical care to residents
• Assist nursing staff with daily care plans and patient monitoring
• Support residents with mobility, hygiene, nutrition, and comfort
• Promote dignity, independence, and respect for all service users
• Maintain accurate records in line with HSE policies
• Adhere to infection prevention, health & safety, and safeguarding procedures
• Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team
Required Skills & Qualifications
• QQI Level 5 qualification in Healthcare Support (or equivalent)
• Experience working with older persons or in a healthcare setting (desirable)
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Commitment to continuous professional development
• Eligibility to work in Ireland
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
• Grade: Health Care Assistant (6075)
• Salary: In line with HSE Consolidated Salary Scales (effective 1 August 2025), including incremental progression and public service pay adjustments
