An excellent opportunity is available for an Orthopaedic Senior House Officer within University Hospital Limerick and Croom Hospital as part of the July 2026 rotation. This role provides hands-on orthopaedic and surgical experience within a busy teaching hospital environment in the Mid West.
Key Responsibilities
• Participate in day-to-day orthopaedic inpatient and outpatient care
• Assist in theatre sessions, trauma management, and elective procedures
• Support consultants and registrars in clinical decision-making
• Take part in on-call and rota commitments as required
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and discharge summaries
• Engage in audit, teaching, and continuous professional development
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Registration with the Irish Medical Council
• Completion of Intern Year
• IELTS overall band minimum 7.0 or OET overall grade B (if applicable)
• Experience in surgery or orthopaedic surgery desirable
• MRCP or MRCPI desirable
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
• Salary in line with HSE Senior House Officer (NCHD) consolidated pay scales
• Indicative basic salary range: €54,203 – €74,133 per annum (1 August 2025 rates, point dependent)
• Fixed Term Wholetime contract
