St. Brendan’s Community Nursing Unit in Loughrea is seeking a dedicated Porter to join its General Support team. This permanent whole-time role is essential to the smooth day-to-day operation of the facility, supporting patient care and clinical services through logistical and transport duties.
Key Responsibilities
• Transport patients, equipment, and supplies safely within the facility
• Support clinical and nursing staff with non-clinical assistance
• Maintain cleanliness and order in assigned areas
• Assist with waste disposal and linen handling
• Follow health and safety and infection control procedures
• Carry out duties as assigned by line management
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Full Irish/EU Driving Licence (Category B)
• Access to own transport due to travel requirements within the service area
• Demonstrated experience in a similar or related role
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Good communication and organisational skills
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
• Grade: Porter (4197)
• Salary: In line with HSE Consolidated Salary Scales (August 2025)
• Contract: Permanent Whole-Time
• Benefits include public service pension, annual leave, and paid sick leave in accordance with HSE terms
