Job Overview

The Quality and Patient Safety Advisor Grade VII role with HSE Mid West offers an excellent opportunity to influence service improvement and risk management across Limerick, Clare and North Tipperary. This position plays a critical role in strengthening governance frameworks, enhancing patient safety standards, and supporting quality improvement initiatives across healthcare services.

Reporting within a dynamic regional structure, the successful candidate will lead change programmes, support risk management processes, and collaborate with multidisciplinary stakeholders to drive measurable service improvements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support quality improvement and patient safety initiatives across services
  • Provide expert guidance on governance, risk management and compliance frameworks
  • Develop, implement and monitor quality assurance systems
  • Support incident management, audit processes and performance review activities
  • Design and deliver training programmes relating to quality and safety standards
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to embed a culture of continuous improvement
  • Prepare reports, performance metrics and service improvement documentation
  • Contribute to organisational change initiatives within a complex healthcare environment

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Significant experience working within the health services in a role involving quality and risk management
  • Demonstrated experience leading change within a complex organisation
  • Experience designing and delivering structured training programmes
  • Proven ability to manage and collaborate with multiple stakeholders
  • Strong analytical, governance and reporting skills
  • Excellent communication, organisational and leadership abilities
