Job Overview

Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital is seeking a dedicated Registrar in Cardiology to join its Medical & Dental team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced NCHD to contribute to high-quality cardiac care within a busy acute hospital setting in the HSE Dublin and North East region.

This role offers valuable clinical exposure, multidisciplinary collaboration, and the opportunity to further develop specialist cardiology competencies in a supportive hospital environment.

Key Responsibilities

Provide high-quality clinical care to patients under the supervision of the Consultant Cardiologist.
Participate in inpatient and outpatient cardiology services.
Assist in the assessment, diagnosis, and management of acute and chronic cardiac conditions.
Contribute to ward rounds, case discussions, and multidisciplinary meetings.
Participate in the on-call rota as required.
Maintain accurate clinical records and comply with hospital governance procedures.
Support teaching and supervision of junior medical staff where appropriate.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Full registration with the Irish Medical Council (IMC) or eligibility for registration.
Relevant experience in Cardiology at SHO or Registrar level.
Demonstrated clinical competence in acute medical and cardiology settings.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Eligibility to work in Ireland.
This post is restricted to current employees of the HSE, TUSLA, Section 38 agencies, or statutory health agencies in line with WRC Agreement 161867.

Salary, Benefits & Working Hours

The salary scale for Registrar (Grade Code 1538) under the February 2026 consolidated HSE pay scales ranges from:

€69,580 to €81,937 per annum (effective 1 February 2026), depending on incremental point.

Working hours are based on a wholetime contract and will include participation in the on-call rota.
