Job Overview

This is an excellent opportunity to join the HSE Dublin and North East region as a Senior Dietitian, delivering high-quality nutrition and dietetic services across Cavan and Monaghan. The role focuses on clinical leadership, patient care, and service development within hospital and community settings. As a senior professional, you will play a key role in improving patient outcomes and supporting multidisciplinary healthcare teams.

Key Responsibilities

Provide advanced clinical dietetic assessment and intervention for patients
Lead and support evidence-based nutrition care planning
Supervise and mentor junior dietitians and students
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across hospital and community services
Contribute to service development and quality improvement initiatives
Maintain accurate patient records and reporting standards
Participate in audit, research, and professional development activities

Required Skills & Qualifications

Recognised qualification in Dietetics
Registration with CORU as a Dietitian (or eligibility to register)
Minimum relevant post-qualification experience at senior level
Strong clinical, communication, and organisational skills
Experience in multidisciplinary team environments
Commitment to continuous professional development
Leadership and mentoring capabilities

Salary, Benefits & Working Hours

Salary Scale: €64,551 – €76,007 per annum (based on HSE Senior Dietitian scale and experience). This is a Permanent Wholetime position offering job security, public sector pension, annual leave entitlements, and ongoing professional development opportunities within the HSE.

This role is based across Cavan and Monaghan within the HSE Dublin and North East region, covering services in both hospital and community settings including Cavan & Monaghan Hospitals and Community Healthcare Networks.
