The Health Service Executive (HSE) is seeking a highly skilled Senior Embryologist to join the Lee Road Clinic at Cork University Maternity Hospital. This permanent wholetime role offers the opportunity to deliver advanced fertility and embryology services within a leading maternity and neonatal care setting. Ideal candidates will bring strong laboratory expertise, excellent clinical judgement, and a commitment to high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities
• Deliver high-quality embryology services in accordance with clinical and regulatory standards
• Perform laboratory procedures including IVF, ICSI, embryo culture, assessment, and cryopreservation
• Ensure accurate documentation, reporting, and record-keeping across all ART processes
• Contribute to quality assurance, audit, and laboratory performance improvement initiatives
• Support patient consultations, clinical pathways, and multidisciplinary teamwork
• Maintain compliance with HSE policies, laboratory protocols, and national guidelines
• Participate in service development, training, and continuous professional development
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Recognised qualification in embryology or relevant biological/medical science discipline
• Significant experience working in an IVF/ART laboratory, ideally at senior level
• Demonstrated expertise in micromanipulation techniques and embryo handling
• Strong understanding of clinical governance, quality systems, and laboratory accreditation
• Excellent analytical, communication, and team collaboration skills
• Ability to work in a regulated clinical environment with high attention to detail
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
• Salary aligned with HSE pay scales for Embryologist, Senior (Grade 3934)
• Permanent, wholetime contract
