The Staff Nurse Emergency Department Cavan role offers an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic Emergency Department within the HSE Dublin and North East region. This Permanent Wholetime position is open to both HSE and non-HSE applicants and provides the opportunity to work in a fast-paced acute care setting delivering high-quality emergency nursing services.

This role is ideal for a motivated Registered General Nurse seeking to develop their clinical skills in emergency and acute nursing care.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients presenting to the Emergency Department.
Assess, plan, implement and evaluate individualised patient care plans.
Respond promptly to emergency and critical care situations.
Administer medications and treatments in line with hospital policies and NMBI guidelines.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and clinical audits.
Support junior staff and student nurses where appropriate.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Registered as a General Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI) or eligible for registration.
Demonstrated clinical competence in acute or emergency nursing settings.
Strong assessment, triage and critical decision-making skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
Flexibility to work shifts, including nights and weekends as required.

Salary aligned with the HSE Staff Nurse (General) Grade 2135 pay scale in accordance with February 2026 consolidated public sector salary scales :contentReference[oaicite:0]{index=0}.
