The Staff Nurse Emergency Department Cavan role offers an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic Emergency Department within the HSE Dublin and North East region. This Permanent Wholetime position is open to both HSE and non-HSE applicants and provides the opportunity to work in a fast-paced acute care setting delivering high-quality emergency nursing services.
This role is ideal for a motivated Registered General Nurse seeking to develop their clinical skills in emergency and acute nursing care.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients presenting to the Emergency Department.
- Assess, plan, implement and evaluate individualised patient care plans.
- Respond promptly to emergency and critical care situations.
- Administer medications and treatments in line with hospital policies and NMBI guidelines.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and clinical audits.
- Support junior staff and student nurses where appropriate.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Registered as a General Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI) or eligible for registration.
- Demonstrated clinical competence in acute or emergency nursing settings.
- Strong assessment, triage and critical decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Flexibility to work shifts, including nights and weekends as required.
