The Health Service Executive (HSE) is Ireland’s national health service, delivering healthcare services to the Irish population. We are seeking an experienced General Manager to lead our Surgical Hub operations at Swords Business Campus in Dublin North, driving excellence in surgical services and healthcare delivery.
About the Role
This is a senior management position responsible for overseeing the strategic and operational management of our Surgical Hub facility. The successful candidate will lead a multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality surgical services, efficient resource management, and compliance with healthcare standards while supporting the HSE’s mission to improve health and wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead strategic planning and operational management of the Surgical Hub facility
- Oversee budget management, resource allocation, and financial performance monitoring
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, quality standards, and safety protocols
- Manage and develop multidisciplinary teams including clinical and administrative staff
- Coordinate with surgical departments, consultants, and external healthcare partners
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and operational efficiency
- Monitor key performance indicators and implement corrective actions as needed
Required Qualifications
Essential Requirements
- Relevant third-level qualification in Healthcare Management, Business Administration, or related field
- Minimum 5 years senior management experience in healthcare or surgical environments
- Demonstrated experience in budget management and financial oversight
- Strong leadership and team management capabilities
- Knowledge of healthcare regulations and quality assurance standards
Preferred Qualifications
- Postgraduate qualification in Healthcare Management or MBA
- Previous experience in HSE or Irish healthcare system
- Experience with surgical services management
- Advanced project management certifications
- Understanding of clinical governance frameworks
