The Health Service Executive (HSE) is Ireland’s national health service, providing comprehensive healthcare services across the country. We are currently seeking an experienced Grade VIII Finance Manager to join our team at Midland Regional Hospital Portlaoise, offering a permanent wholetime position with excellent career development opportunities.
About the Role
As a Grade VIII Finance Manager at HSE Dublin and Midlands, you will play a crucial role in financial management and analysis within our complex healthcare organization. This position requires strong financial expertise and leadership skills to ensure compliance with best practice financial processes while supporting multiple stakeholders across the hospital.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage financial operations and ensure compliance with HSE financial policies and procedures
- Prepare, analyze and present monthly management accounts and variance analysis reports
- Develop and maintain comprehensive budgeting and costing systems for hospital operations
- Lead financial data preparation, reporting, and analysis to support strategic decision-making
- Supervise and manage finance team members to ensure efficient department operations
- Collaborate with multiple stakeholders across the organization on financial matters
- Ensure accurate manipulation and interpretation of complex financial data sets
Required Qualifications
Essential Requirements
- Significant experience working in finance roles within large, complex organizations
- Proven experience with costing, budgeting systems, and financial analysis
- Strong background in preparing monthly management accounts and variance analysis
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel
- Demonstrated experience in people management and team leadership
- Knowledge of best practice financial processes and compliance requirements
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in healthcare or public sector finance
- Professional accounting qualification (ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent)
- Knowledge of HSE financial systems and procedures
- Experience with healthcare costing methodologies
