The Grade VIII Head of Human Resources role at St. Luke’s General Hospital Carlow-Kilkenny offers an exceptional leadership opportunity within a major acute hospital setting. This permanent wholetime position plays a pivotal role in delivering strategic HR services that support high-quality patient care and workforce excellence across the hospital.
As a senior HR leader, you will provide expert guidance on medical manpower strategies, employment legislation, workforce planning and organisational development within the HSE Dublin and South East region.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the Human Resources function within St. Luke’s General Hospital Carlow-Kilkenny.
- Provide strategic advice on medical manpower planning and workforce strategies.
- Ensure compliance with employment legislation and HSE policies.
- Oversee SAP Payroll, NER and DIME systems relevant to the role.
- Develop and implement HR policies, systems and organisational strategies.
- Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and key internal and external stakeholders.
- Prepare and present detailed reports and presentations to senior management and relevant committees.
- Influence and support organisational change initiatives across the hospital.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Significant experience in senior HR management within a complex organisation.
- Strong knowledge of Medical Manpower strategies and relevant Employment Legislation.
- Proven experience using SAP Payroll, NER and DIME systems.
- Demonstrated ability to contribute to the development of strategic policies and systems.
- Excellent interpersonal, influencing and negotiation skills.
- Strong research, analytical and report-writing skills.
- Ability to engage confidently with stakeholders at all organisational levels.
