The Health Care Assistant Galway Home Support role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of service users across the community. These permanent part-time positions support individuals in their own homes, promoting independence, dignity, and quality of life.
This campaign (Ref: CHW19HCA26) is open to both HSE and non-HSE applicants and is part of the HSE West and North West region.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide personal care and practical support to clients in their own homes
- Assist with daily living activities in line with individual care plans
- Support service users to maintain independence and wellbeing
- Report any changes in client condition to the appropriate healthcare professional
- Maintain accurate records in accordance with HSE policies
- Adhere to safeguarding, infection control, and health & safety standards
- Travel between service users’ homes as required
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in a caring role in an informal and/or formal setting
- Ability to work independently within the community
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Access to suitable personal transport to enable full discharge of duties
- Full eligibility to work in Ireland
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
This role is aligned to the HSE Grade: Health Care Support Assistant (Code 6494) under Patient and Client Care.
Salary is in accordance with the HSE Consolidated Salary Scales (1 August 2025) and Department of Health Circular 6/2025.
