The Health Care Assistant UHL Limerick role offers an excellent opportunity to join the UEC Directorate Emergency Care team at University Hospital Limerick. This permanent whole-time position plays a vital role in supporting nursing staff and delivering high-quality patient-centred care in a fast-paced acute hospital environment.
This opportunity is open to both HSE and non-HSE applicants and is based within HSE Mid West.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct care and support to patients under the supervision of nursing staff.
- Assist patients with personal care needs including hygiene, mobility, and nutrition.
- Support the multidisciplinary team in delivering high standards of emergency and acute care.
- Maintain accurate documentation as required.
- Ensure infection prevention and control standards are adhered to.
- Assist in maintaining a safe and clean ward environment.
- Respond appropriately to patient needs in a busy emergency care setting.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Relevant Health Care Assistant qualification (QQI Level 5 or equivalent).
- Experience in an acute hospital or emergency care setting desirable.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Patient-focused approach with a compassionate and professional attitude.
- Eligibility to work in Ireland.
