About the Role
As a Carer with Irish HomeCare, you’ll deliver essential support to clients in their own homes across Sligo Town and Grange. Working across mornings, evenings, and weekends, you’ll help clients maintain their independence and quality of life in a familiar environment. Both full-time and part-time hours are available, making this an excellent fit for those seeking flexible working arrangements.
No prior experience is required. Irish HomeCare’s in-house training team will support you from day one through the Earn as You Learn Scheme, enabling you to work toward a City & Guilds Diploma in Health and Social Care — an internationally recognised qualification equivalent to a QQI Level 5 Major Award — while earning a wage.
Key Responsibilities
- Delivering personal care, including washing, toileting, and dressing
- Providing dementia care support in line with individual care plans
- Assisting with palliative care needs with sensitivity and compassion
- Offering companionship and emotional support to clients
- Maintaining accurate records and reporting any changes in client condition
Requirements
- Fluent English — both spoken and written
- Must be resident in the Sligo Town or Grange area
- Full, clean driving licence and access to your own vehicle
- Availability to work mornings, afternoons, evenings, and alternate weekends
- Authorisation to work in Ireland

Salary
Competitive pay. Enhanced rates apply for fully qualified Carers. Mileage and paid travel time are provided in addition to base pay.
Location
This is a community-based role working across Sligo Town and Grange, County Sligo. You will travel between clients’ homes within these areas, with Irish HomeCare providing mileage reimbursement and paid travel time between visits.
Contract Type
Full-time and part-time positions available. Flexible shift patterns including mornings, evenings, and alternate weekends.
