The Health Service Executive (HSE) is seeking a skilled Health and Social Care Professional to take on the role of HSCP Lead for Palliative Care under reference HSCPPC02. This national part-time secondment position supports strategic development and coordination of palliative care services. Existing terms and conditions apply on a grade-for-grade basis.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead and coordinate national HSCP palliative care initiatives
• Support programme delivery in alignment with HSE priorities
• Provide professional leadership, guidance, and oversight to relevant HSCP teams
• Collaborate with senior managers, planners, and service leads
• Contribute to service design, implementation, monitoring, and reporting
• Engage in multidisciplinary decision-making and stakeholder communication
• Support quality improvement and evidence-based practice across services
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Must be an existing HSCP at HSCP Project Officer Grade 3149
• Significant experience working in palliative care or related HSCP field
• Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills
• Experience in programme or project management desirable
• Ability to work collaboratively in a national cross-disciplinary environment
• Excellent analytical, planning, and problem-solving abilities

• Contract: Fixed Term, Part-time (Secondment basis)
• Salary: As per HSE Consolidated Salary Scales
• Existing terms and conditions maintained for secondment roles
