IT Field Engineer Sligo – PFH Technology Jobs

PFH Technology, owned by Ricoh, is recruiting an IT Field Engineer in Sligo to deliver high-quality End User Computing (EUC) support services. This IT Field Engineer Sligo role involves supporting customer IT infrastructure, resolving technical issues, and ensuring business continuity across client sites.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prioritise, manage, and respond to helpdesk calls logged on the helpdesk system, including travel to customer sites.
  • Establish and maintain strong working relationships with customers.
  • Troubleshoot hardware faults and coordinate referrals to third-party vendors where required.
  • Perform system administration tasks using Active Directory.
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues.
  • Install and configure computer hardware, operating systems (Windows 10 & Windows 11), applications, and peripherals.
  • Set up new shared folders on existing network shares.
  • Liaise with third-party vendors for software and hardware installations.
  • Manage data transfers and migration tasks.
  • Respond to ‘how-to’ and information requests, including data security and ICT policy guidance.
  • Document new solutions and maintain accurate records.
  • Support managed print devices and liaise with vendors regarding IP configurations.
  • Access consoles to deploy or provide solutions (e.g., content encryption).
  • Adhere strictly to SD processes, procedures, and escalation protocols.
  • Create and update records and databases with personnel, financial, and operational data.
  • Submit timely reports and prepare presentations or proposals as required.
  • Assist colleagues and project teams as requested.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in an IT hardware environment, particularly with Windows 10 and Windows 11 installations.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to empathise with users and support technology adoption.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong working knowledge of the full Microsoft Office suite and report writing.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering high-quality outputs and documentation.
  • Full clean driver’s licence (essential).
  • Third Level IT qualification (desirable).
  • Microsoft certifications (advantageous).
  • Ability to collaborate across multiple teams and project phases.
  • Experience with IT governance and security policies (desirable).
