About the IT Specialist HSE Galway Role

This IT Specialist HSE Galway position focuses on delivering enterprise-level integration solutions within our expanding healthcare technology infrastructure. Reporting to the ICT Manager, you’ll lead cross-functional projects that directly impact patient care delivery and hospital operations across the HSE West and North West region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead IT integration projects connecting healthcare systems and electronic health records across hospital departments
  • Manage vendor relationships and coordinate third-party technology implementations for optimal healthcare delivery
  • Deliver complex IT solutions within multidisciplinary teams, ensuring seamless integration with existing HSE systems
  • Oversee project implementation from planning through delivery, maintaining strict deadlines and quality standards
  • Present technology solutions to Senior Management and key stakeholders across hospital departments
  • Ensure compliance with GDPR, HSE data protection guidelines, and healthcare-specific security requirements
  • Provide technical leadership on large-scale IT implementations affecting patient care and hospital operations

Requirements for Our IT Specialist HSE Galway

Essential

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience delivering IT integration solutions in large organizations, preferably healthcare
  • Proven vendor management experience with technology suppliers and implementation partners
  • Strong project delivery background demonstrating successful IT implementations within team environments
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with complex technology challenges
  • Outstanding communication skills with experience working across multidisciplinary healthcare teams
  • Project management expertise with demonstrated ability to deliver results within tight deadlines
  • Data protection knowledge including GDPR compliance and HSE-specific guidelines

Preferred

  • Electronic health records experience or familiarity with hospital information systems
  • Large-scale IT project implementation experience in healthcare or similar regulated environments
  • Senior stakeholder engagement including presentations to C-level executives
  • Healthcare technology certifications relevant to integration platforms
  • Change management experience in complex organizational environments
