Multi Task Attendant Galway – Áras Mhic Dara CNU

The Multi Task Attendant Galway opportunity at Áras Mhic Dara Community Nursing Unit offers a permanent whole-time position within Older People Services in Carraroe, Co Galway. This role is central to supporting the daily care, comfort, and wellbeing of residents in a community nursing environment.

Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will help maintain a safe, clean, and supportive setting for older persons receiving long-term and respite care.

Key Responsibilities

Provide direct support to residents in line with care plans and nursing guidance.
Assist with daily living activities including mobility, hygiene, and comfort measures.
Maintain a clean and safe environment within the unit.
Support infection prevention and control procedures.
Assist nursing and healthcare staff as required.
Ensure dignity, privacy, and respect for all residents at all times.
Report any concerns regarding residents’ wellbeing to the appropriate staff member.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Demonstrated depth and breadth of experience in a healthcare setting (hospital, residential, community, or nursing home) providing direct care to service users.
Competent level of spoken and written English.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Commitment to delivering high-quality care to older persons.

Salary, Benefits & Working Hours

Grade: Attendant – Multi-Task (6015).
Contract Type: Permanent Wholetime.
Salary: In line with HSE Consolidated Salary Scales (Patient & Client Care Grades) effective 1 August 2025.

This role is based at Áras Mhic Dara Community Nursing Unit, Carraroe, Co Galway, within HSE West and North West (covering Donegal, Sligo, Leitrim, Roscommon, Mayo, and Galway).
