University Hospital Waterford is recruiting an Operations Manager – Clinical to provide senior leadership across clinical services at one of the South East’s busiest acute hospitals. This is a permanent, whole-time opportunity for an experienced healthcare manager ready to drive operational excellence at scale.
Role Overview
Reporting to senior hospital leadership, the Operations Manager – Clinical will hold strategic and operational responsibility for the delivery of safe, effective, and patient-centred services across University Hospital Waterford. The postholder will play a central role in shaping service development, driving quality improvement, and supporting the hospital’s performance against national targets and standards.

Salary & Contract
€86,604 – €107,727 per annum (HSE General Manager scale, 7-point scale), based on the HSE Consolidated Salary Scales effective 1 February 2026. Appointment is on a permanent, whole-time basis. Salary on appointment is subject to relevant HSE pay policy and incremental credit rules.

University Hospital Waterford is the largest acute hospital in the South East of Ireland, serving a catchment population of approximately 500,000 across Waterford, Wexford, Kilkenny, Carlow, and South Tipperary.
