Job Overview
Corlann South is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Payroll Officer Grade V Cork to join its Finance team on a permanent wholetime basis. This role plays a vital part in ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing while maintaining compliance with public sector pay regulations.
Based at the Administrative Centre in Lota, Glanmire, Co. Cork, this position offers a structured 35-hour working week within a respected publicly funded organisation operating under Section 38 arrangements.
Key Responsibilities
- Process weekly and monthly payroll for employees in line with approved public sector salary scales
- Ensure compliance with Department of Health consolidated salary scales and circulars
- Maintain accurate payroll records and employee data
- Calculate statutory deductions including PAYE, PRSI, USC and pension contributions
- Prepare payroll reports and reconciliation statements
- Liaise with HR and Finance departments regarding pay queries and adjustments
- Ensure adherence to audit and governance standards
- Assist in financial reporting and payroll-related compliance documentation
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Relevant qualification in Payroll, Finance, Accounting or Business Administration
- Previous payroll processing experience, ideally within the public or health sector
- Strong understanding of Irish payroll legislation and public sector pay structures
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Proficiency in payroll and financial systems
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Ability to manage confidential information with discretion
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
- Grade: Admin Grade V (0566)
- Contract Type: Permanent Wholetime
- Working Hours: 35 hours per week
- Salary: In line with HSE Section 38 Clerical & Management Administration Grade V consolidated pay scales (February 2026 rates apply)
