Job Overview

The Radiographer Senior Clinical Practice Tutor Sligo will support clinical teaching and assessment within the UCC MSc Diagnostic Programme, ensuring students receive high-quality practical training within the hospital setting. The role requires strong clinical expertise, a commitment to professional education, and active engagement in research.

This is a permanent part-time post based in Sligo under HSE West and North West.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide structured clinical teaching and supervision to radiography students within the hospital setting.
  • Support the delivery of the UCC MSc Diagnostic Programme through clinical mentorship and assessment.
  • Demonstrate leadership in promoting best practice and high standards of patient care.
  • Collaborate with academic and clinical colleagues to ensure alignment between theoretical and practical training.
  • Participate in clinical audits, research activity, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate student performance records and contribute to evaluation processes.
  • Ensure compliance with professional, regulatory, and HSE policies.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Registration as a Radiographer with CORU.
  • Senior-level clinical radiography experience.
  • Demonstrated depth and breadth of experience in clinical teaching within a hospital setting.
  • Evidence of research activity and engagement in professional development.
  • Strong communication, mentoring, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across academic and clinical teams.
