Letterkenny University Hospital is seeking a highly skilled Clinical Engineering Technician, Senior to support the safe and effective management of medical devices and clinical equipment across the hospital. This permanent whole-time post offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to patient safety, innovation, and high-quality healthcare delivery in Donegal.
There are currently two permanent whole-time vacancies available.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain, repair, calibrate, and test a wide range of medical equipment and devices.
- Support installation, commissioning, and validation of new clinical equipment.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, safety guidelines, and HSE policies.
- Maintain accurate service records and asset management documentation.
- Provide technical advice and support to clinical and healthcare staff.
- Participate in risk assessments and quality improvement initiatives.
- Assist in training healthcare staff in the safe use of medical equipment.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Relevant qualification in Clinical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or related discipline.
- Significant experience in maintenance and management of medical equipment.
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
- Knowledge of relevant healthcare regulations and safety standards.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to prioritise workload and work independently.
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
Salary is aligned with the Clinical Engineering Technician – Senior (Grade 3162) pay scale under the Department of Health Consolidated Salary Scales (1 August 2025) .
